After 6 years in Durham, we are giving taste 2019 a 150th theme! taste is a celebration of local food and drink, hosted at multiple Durham locations.
For our largest format event during the 5 day festival, we’ll host our grand taste where you can sip and eat on 40+ culinary artists defining why Durham got it’s name, tastiest city in the south. we’ll have a focus on our local brewery scene on wed night to commemorate the present and future! at the armory, we are working on the history museum on creating an art wall on the history of Durham’s food scene.
Friday night, we’ll create a prohibition jazz club in a secret location. Embrace the grace and spirit of the times as partygoers sneak into a secret speakeasy and sip on cocktails and enjoy jazz that will make you think you’ve taken a ride in a time machine.
Enjoy the “culinary experience of the year,” as one attendee described the Grand TASTE Experience. Spend the evening with hundreds of guests savoring dishes created by 30+ of the best chefs and artisans in our local area. The Wednesday Grand Taste Experience will feature craft spirits and wine – as you’ve come to expect at this event – with an emphasis on beer in the Beer Garden with 20+ craft beers from North Carolina and across the country. Of course, no soiree is complete without music, so a live band will perform as you TASTE the night away!- All attendees must be 21 years or older
On Saturday night, The Taste of Durham’s Past Dinner is inspired by Durham’s 150th Anniversary. Take your tastebuds on a tour through Durham’s rich history. Durham’s food history is reminiscent of its diverse residents, coming from many cultures including African, Native American and European.
Additional events will be featured that will compliment the theme of past, present, future culture, food, entertainment and more!
