THE PROJECT IS THE CREATION OF TRI-FOLD BROCHURE HIGHLIGHTING THE HISTORY OF HAYTI AND THE FAYETTEVILLE STREET CORRIDOR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. HAYTI WAS THE HISTORICAL LOCATION OF MANY OF DURHAM’S BLACK BUSINESSES AND TODAY IT IS HOME TO OVER 150 SMALL BUSINESSES, HISTORICAL LANDMARKS, MARKERS AND INSTITUTIONS.

THE FAYETTEVILLE STREET CORRIDOR IS AN IMPORTANT NORTH-SOUTH THOROUGHFARE THROUGH DURHAM COUNTY AND CONNECTS NORTHERN DURHAM TO THE RESEARCH TRIANGLE AND RDU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF DURHAM.

On June 30, brochures will be mailed out, shared on social media, and delivered to physical locations
