Gaspard&Dancers 10th Anniversary
Durham 150 Grantee
Durham-based modern dance choreographer Gaspard Louis and his company Gaspard&Dancers (G&D) will present a packed evening of dance September 27 and 28 at Duke University’s Reynolds Industries Theater—the company’s tenth annual concert at Duke. The evening-length program will feature the world premiere of Louis’ new work “Exit/No Entry”, inspired by the current U.S. policy on asylum seekers and its attendant humanitarian crisis.
Gaspard&Dancers (G&D) is a multiracial dance company with a mission to expand the creative potential of all who see and share in our work. The company was founded by former Pilobolus dancer Gaspard Louis in 2009 and is base in Durham. We collaborate with local musicians, visual artists and festivals. We feel very fortunate to have been a part Durham’s history for the past 9 years.
As Durham celebrating its 150th history, we hope to remain part of its future as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. We will present a new work inspired by the current U.S. political policy on asylum seekers on September 27 and 28 at Duke University’s Reynolds Theater. The program will include a free matinee performance for all children in the Durham school district.
